Goal
- Safe jumping off the ground
- Building the foundation for jumping onto boxes and rails, and drop-ins in the halfpipe
Where
Very gentle slope with enough run-out or a counter-slope

How
Approach in a low position. Press slightly on the front leg before leaning back onto the rear leg to lift the nose from the snow. Pull the front leg up and simultaneously stretch the back leg to lift the whole board from the snow, then retract the rear leg in the air. When landing stretch the legs slightly, then absorb the jump by bending the knees when the board touches the snow.
.
Methodical progression
- Demonstration of the final form and adapted technical explanation
- Exercise in standing position: practice jumping and landing on flat terrain
- Practice in the fall line
- Jumping over small obstacles (ropes, small snowmen, …)
