Gliding is directly connected to strapping in on the slope. First, strapping in with the front foot is practiced, then single-leg gliding exercises are carried out. Only after that is the second foot strapped in. Finally, two-legged gliding is practiced.
Goal
- Safe gliding
- Preparation for using the lift
Where
A very gentle slope with enough run-out or a counter-slope
How
Single-leg and two-leg gliding in a stable position. Both legs should bear weight evenly. Adopt a neutral riding stance. Stopping is done by running out on the slope or using the counter-slope. Later on, stopping can also be done by placing the back foot down (J-turn).

Methodical Progression
Single-leg gliding:
- Gliding in the fall line
- J-turn
- Gliding with vertical movement
- Gliding with weight shifting
- Gliding with appropriate movement tasks
Two-leg gliding:
- Gliding in the fall line
- Gliding with vertical movement
- Gliding with weight shifting
- Gliding with appropriate movement tasks
- Gliding while incorporating small jumps
- Gliding while trying to put the board slightly on edge
