Goal
- Jump with a 180° rotation (Backside rotation)
- Natural and Switch
- Repeat the difference between Frontside and Backside rotation
Where
Flat slope (blue run); well-groomed, grippy slope

How
The takeoff is performed with both legs or through an ollie from the toeside edge. The upper body is pre-rotated against the riding direction. To achieve a full 180° rotation during the flight phase, sufficient airtime is needed. The landing is on the flat base and cushioned with both legs. Re-engaging the toeside edge helps stop the rotational impulse. Additionally, it helps to look back in the riding direction only after the landing.
Methodical Progression
- Demonstration of the final form and adapted technical explanation
- Stationary exercise: 180° jumps on flat ground (emphasizing backside rotation)
- 3-turn: Ride natural on the toeside edge – at a standstill, jump with reduced rotation onto the heelside edge – ride out (heelside)
- Gradually increase the rotation range
- Turn toward the slope: start on the toeside edge
- 3-turn: Switch
- Gradually increase the rotation range
- Practice in the traverse: Switch
- Link backside 180° turns
